Lighter. More powerful. Better-handling. To meet these essential targets, the 2020 YZ450F was examined under a microscope. An ultra-compact motor was developed, housed in the latest evolution of Yamaha's aluminum bilateral beam frame. Chassis components and suspension settings were carefully refined for excellent handling feel, and weight was shaved everywhere, from the footrests to the electrical system.

The YZ450F's distinct rearward-slanted cylinder design is now even lighter and more compact than before, ideally positioned in the frame for optimized weight distribution. Several internal engine upgrades for 2020 contribute to an ideal balance of open-class power and exceptional controllability.

  • CHASSIS

The compact bilateral beam frame is further refined for 2020, featuring thinner main spars, thicker down tubes and all-new motor mounts that work together to shed weight and boost handling feel at the limit. One of the sharpest-handling machines in the class just got sharper.

  • POWER TUNER APP

The groundbreaking Power Tuner app makes it easy to modify fuel mapping directly from your Smartphone based on riding conditions. You can also record race log information, monitor a range of data and share settings with teammates or friends. Easy to operate and free to download, the Power Tuner app uses onboard Wi-Fi to communicate with the bike's CCU, allowing you to tune like never before.
